You can also come along to a rehearsal to see how we work.  All rehearsal dates, times, and locations (with maps) are updated in the ESME Full Calendar – do check this before turning up, as sometimes details change. Please contact us before coming to any rehearsals. By the way, all three ESME ensembles rehearse on different days of the week, so feel free to join more than just one!

We are presently actively looking for the following instruments/voices:

Big Band: (2nd) bass trombone and (2nd) 3rd trombone, guitarist (comfortable with extended jazz chords/solos), pianist (comfortable with extended jazz chords/ solos/ reading from chord sheets) and male vocalist (tenor)

Orchestra: we have spaces in all strings (except for cellos), bassoon, trumpets, trombones, tuba.

Singers: our choir needs more sopranos and bass 2s. Tenors are also rarely turned away, but the final decision is up to the current conductor.

Where the Big Band tends to play all year round, the singers and the orchestra take breaks over Summer and Winter (August/January), so please be patient should we not get back to you straight away in these periods!
